RAIN OR SHINE
2019
Despite one's position in the world, needing shelter from the elements unites us all. Rain or Shine is a public art project that aims to connect visitors and residents of Madison Heights by establishing a community shared umbrella system. Umbrella stands will be strategically placed throughout the neighborhood at businesses, organizations, gathering spaces and at transportation hubs for anyone to borrow as they move through the neighborhood and deposit at another umbrella stand for others to use.
Rain or Shine will serve to disrupt the disconnection between divergent communities and create a playful pathway for natural interactions to develop between those who are collectively seeking shelter from sun or rain.
