Cat Peña is a cultural producer with extensive experience providing professional consulting services to private and public sectors for concept, development, coordination/management of public art projects/programming and creative approaches to community engagement.



  •  Public Art Programing / Project Management: oversight and management of project planning, site analysis, artist selection/referrals, project timelines, contracts, design and fabrication of public art for the project site
  •  Community Engagement: plan and design an appropriate community engagement strategies, identify community stakeholders, define possible limitations, and strategies for staging engagement
  •  Design/ Concept Development: creative problem solving for development projects, procedural methods and creating functional forms or layouts
  •  Collaborative Creative Research: design framework and oversight of topic or place specific    collaborative creative research to identify the wants and needs of a focus group or site 


Since 2004, Cat Peña has cultivated her interest and understanding of the multifaceted field of pubic art and social practices by assuming the roles of public artist, fabricator, installer, project manager, educator, fundraiser, grant writer, and community organizer. It is from this knowledge that Peña successfully identifies, designs, and implements opportunities to improve cultural exchanges that reanimate or define the physical, social or cultural spaces of our cities as well as act as an advocate for artists and their working methodologies.
